As we approach the final of the year, the 2023/24 Bundesliga campaign moves into Matchday 13 with more than a third of the season already in the history books. There was some shifting of positions across the field during the weekend but the picture has not really changed at either end of the league table. There was not much change at the lower end of the table as most of the teams in the bottom-6 were able to avoid a defeat. Köln was the only exception as its defeat pushed the club back to the bottom of the Bundesliga table in 18th position. In the meantime, Union Berlin picked up its first point since the end of August to lift itself off the floor to 17th spot while Mainz kept up its resurgence despite staying on 16th spot. Darmstadt lies 1 point above the drop zone in 15th position with Bochum having a point more in 14th position, respectively.
